How do you know it’s time to change to a new job?

Have you ever had the nagging feeling that it might be time to move on from your job?


How do you know it’s time to make the seemingly tough decision to change jobs? Does the thought of going to work again on Sunday night make you anxious? Are you having a tough time at your workplace? Are you stressed about your work lately? If yes, then It might be time to consider changing your job. Changing jobs is never easy as we know that a week at work can be tougher and stressful as compared to the other, so changing a job has its risks. 

Some of the main signs which you should take into consideration are mentioned below:

1: Are you learning?

Job doesn’t always mean that you have to earn; it also means that you learn new things daily and improve your skills. When you start to doubt whether you are learning or not at your job, then it might be the best time for you to change your job and start a new one. 

2: Are you having fun?

Working doesn’t mean that it has to be boring and dull all the time. Working can be a recreational activity for you, and you can have a lot of fun at your workplace. 

Still, the question is, are you having fun at your workplace? Or the time spent at your workplace is more unfulfilling? Do you find no motivation about going to work? Then perhaps you should consider change. 

3: Are you being harassed at your workplace?

Harassment at the workplace is never acceptable. Harassment and bullying is something which can make your time at your workplace extremely hard. 

Sexual harassment workplace is something which is faced by women frequently, so if you are being harassed at your workplace, then it could be a green signal for you to change your job. 

4: Are you always feeling tired?

Because of workload and pressure, are you always feeling tired and you lack sleep? Are you always working late at night and not getting enough rest? Working is never an easy task, but if you are always working too much and your boss is giving you loads and loads of work, then it might be the time when you reconsider your place and start considering changing your job.

5: Do complaints about work occupy your time?

In the free time when you are alone you can talk to yourself, and consider it a personal time but are you complaining to yourself about work.

Are you cutting your time for complaints about your job and workplace, then you should consider changing your job and start working somewhere else where you are more at ease, and you can be tension free.


If you see these signs more frequently, then it’s probably the best option to quit your current job and start a new one. Take some time off from your work, do a job search, and get yourself out of this situation. It will provide you something else to focus on instead of the job you are not satisfied with and is a hard time.
